Now the list of his professions does not fit in one line: journalist, television presenter, editor, satirist, writer, television director, editor-in-chief.
Lev Yurievich was born in the post-war 1946 in Moscow. His Jewish surname Nevzen was Russified into Novozhenov. Leo's father is a journalist, mother is a graphic artist. His ancestors lived in the Tambov province and in Ukraine.
In childhood, as Lev Yurievich told in an interview, he was left to his own devices. Mom gave birth to him at the age of 18, and when he grew up, everyone considered him her younger brother. He spent his childhood with grandparents, he lived even in occupied Germany.
Already from the eighth grade, he worked as a locksmith in a factory, earning his first salary. He was a collector, repairman, even concrete worker - a working bone, as they say.
He did not study very well - he had to study in Vespers, but nevertheless entered the Moscow State University, although he was expelled for poor progress. In order to rehabilitate, we needed a positive characteristic from the Komsomol construction site, so I had to go as a volunteer to the Achinsk plant.
But for a long time the freedom-loving Novozhenov could not stand it - the midge, mosquitoes, prisoners and cold were unbearable, and he returned to Moscow. He worked there, then entered the Moscow Polytechnic Institute, the editorial faculty. Thus began his journey into the profession of a journalist.
How to become a journalist
You can, like Lev Novozhenov, first work as a courier in a newspaper. He, for example, began in Evening Moscow. And then start writing - essays, stories, humorous sketches. And if there is talent, then everything will work out.
Novozhenov had a talent because he began to be published in the authoritative journal Yunost and in the newspapers Literaturnaya Gazeta and Literary Russia.
And then the career went on increasing: just a good journalist grew up to the deputy chief editor of the newspaper Moskovsky Komsomolets - this is not a joke.
TV career
Former colleague Dmitry Dibrov gave Novozhenov a ticket to the television business in 1993: he invited him to Channel 4. Here Lev Yuryevich was the chief director, directed the program "Vremechko", was the deputy director of "New Studio". And after 4 years he was already on NTV, where he conducted many different interesting programs. His last work to us on this channel is the program "Ours with Lev Novozhenov", which lasted until 2015.
Lev Yuryevich worked on TV-3, Komsomolskaya Pravda, on Channel One. Today he works as a presenter on RTVI channel under the heading “Philosophical minute with Lev Novozhenov” and also teaches at the Ostankino Moscow Institute.
