The future tennis player was born on May 22, 1987 in Belgrade. From childhood, he began to show great promise in tennis. Novak received his first racket as a gift from his parents at the age of four. This was a fateful decision.
Two years later, a gifted boy is noticed by one of the stars of Serbian tennis, Elena Gencic, and takes him under her care. Elena regularly conducts training with Djokovic and teaches all the intricacies of the game. Their partnership lasts until 1999 and includes the difficult period of the bombing of Belgrade by NATO aircraft in 1998.
