The tremendous success in the creative career of Nani Bregvadze occurred in 1964, when she went to the Paris music hall as part of the capital's music hall. After performing at Olimpia, she became a member of VIA Orera, where she stepped on the stage as a permanent soloist for fifteen years. Together with this musical group, she visited eight dozen countries with concert programs.
It is noteworthy that almost all Soviet holidays, accompanied by gala concerts, included in their program the performances of this talented Georgian singer.
Biography and career of Nani Georgievna Bregvadze
On July 21, 1936 in Tbilisi (Georgia) in the famous creative family, where they loved to sing and dance, the future pop star was born. It is noteworthy that the name "Nani" in Georgia, and indeed in the world, simply does not exist. The People’s Artist of the USSR herself considers him to be a derivative of Nina and is very proud of this kind of manifestation of her father’s love, who called her him.
Due to the fact that the situation in the family very much resembled a constant holiday, Nani began to sing at the same time as she learned to speak. And therefore, her creative career was predetermined from childhood. She began to get professional skills at a music school, and then at a music college. And already at the age of twenty-one, she received the main prize with the song “I extinguished the candle”, sung at the WFM (World Youth Festival) in 1957. Then Leonid Utesov drew attention to her, giving her a very positive parting word in her work.
In 1963, Nani Bregvadze graduated from the conservatory and, as a qualified specialist, began to conquer new heights of the Soviet stage. In the "eighties" Bregvadze decided to continue her professional career as a solo artist. At first, she performed with a repertoire filled with the songs of her predecessors. However, very soon the whole country recognized her own songs. Name plates were issued in huge circulation, which was instantly bought up by grateful fans.
And already in the “nineties” Nani Georgievna began to act more and more often as a member of the commission at various thematic competitions. In this role, she did a lot for the development of young talents, with special emphasis, of course, on Georgian performers. For this, in 2000 in Georgia she was laid the "star of memory."
In addition, in the creative career of the famous singer there are several years when she was engaged in teaching activities in the capital's university (head of the department). And in 2005, Bregvadze recorded her first album with musical compositions that were not included in previously released records.
Unfortunately for many Russian fans of the Georgian singer’s work, in 2008 a crisis broke out in Russian-Georgian relations, and therefore Nani Bregvadze stopped visiting Russia with concert programs.
In 2015, she visited the TV project "Alone with Everyone" by Yulia Menshova, and the next year she became a guest of the program of Vladimir Pozner. Many fans of Nani Bregvadze will remember the concert for a long time, where she, on the stage of the concert hall, together with Vakhtang Kikabidze, Valery Meladze and Tamara Gverdtsiteli, joined the quartet of Georgian vocalists.
