By strict definition, conducting art refers to a specific type of musical activity. Mikhail Tatarnikov chose the profession of conductor not by chance. He has the necessary abilities and continues family traditions.

Starting conditions
To work as a conductor, a person needs to have a subtle ear, musical memory, a sense of rhythm and style. Mikhail Petrovich Tatarnikov is known among his colleagues as a highly qualified specialist. A real confirmation of these words are performances with the orchestra of Turin's “Teatro Reggio” and with the staff of the Novosibirsk Philharmonic. He was greeted with applause in Tokyo at a performance with a local symphony orchestra. Mikhail conducted the Russian National Orchestra at the opening of a music festival in Dresden.
The future conductor was born on September 21, 1978 in a family of creative intelligentsia. Parents lived in the famous city of Leningrad. Father, full member of the Academy of Arts. Mother worked as a teacher of fine art at the Institute of Culture. Mikhail's grandfather was the famous Soviet conductor Jemal Dalgat. Both grandmothers were engaged in art history. A boy from an early age demonstrated his musical abilities. When Tatarnikov was seven years old, he was simultaneously enrolled in two schools - general education and music.

Creative activity
After graduation, Tatarnikov entered the State Conservatory to receive a specialized education at the faculty of symphony and opera conducting. At the same time, he did not leave to master the violin playing technique. Having received a diploma, Mikhail joined the Mariinsky Theater. He was enrolled as a violinist in a symphony orchestra. Tatarnikov's performing career was developing well. After some time, the young musician was noticed by the artistic director of the orchestra Valery Gergiev. I noticed and suggested that he try his hand at managing a musical collective.
At first, Mikhail had a hard time. Perseverance and self-confidence were good helpers. For the first time Tatarnikov stood up for the conductor's console in 2006. The ballet performance "Metaphysics" was staged on stage to the music of Sergei Prokofiev's Second Symphony. A year later, he conducted the opera by the same composer, Love for Three Oranges. The professionalism of the young conductor accumulated from performance to performance. In January 2012, Tatarnikov was appointed music director and chief conductor of the Mikhailovsky Theater in St. Petersburg.
