A popular Ukrainian performer of his own songs and actor Sergey Babkin was born in a family far from both the theater and music. His mother worked all her life as a teacher in a kindergarten, and his father was a military man until his retirement. Despite this, Sergey met music at the age of 6 years.

The first talent of the future popular singer was seen by his mother, who enrolled him in a children's music school in the "flute" class. Subsequently, Sergey, together with his friend Andrei Zaporozhets, created the 5'nizza group, popular in Ukraine.
Musician childhood
Sergey Babkin was born in the city of Kharkov in November 1978. As a child, in addition to the music school, he went to figure skating, ballroom dancing, and also to the circle of fine arts.
In high school, Sergey took an active part in amateur performances, attended a drama club and was a member of the KVN. The theater of the future actor and musician began to attract from an early age.
For the first time, Sergei picked up the guitar at the age of 12. The boy did not take any lessons from playing this hitherto unfamiliar instrument from anyone. Sergey already had musician skills, and so he mastered the six-string on his own in just a few weeks.
At the age of 14, the future musician became interested in the work of the groups “Syutkin and K” and “Bravo”. Inspired by the talent of the members of these popular groups, Sergey began to write his own, already serious and almost professional songs, which at first he performed only in front of friends and relatives.
After the 9th grade of secondary school, Sergei Babkin chose one of the Kharkov musical lyceums for further studies, which differed from the others in that, in addition to everything else, there was a theater department. In this educational institution, later he met his colleague in the musical group 5'nizza Andrei Zaporozhets.
Study at the institute
After graduating from the musical lyceum in 1996, Sergey Babkin entered the acting faculty of the Kharkov Institute of Arts. Studying at this university, the future musician and actor actively participated in student productions, won competitions and, of course, met many interesting talented people.
Sergey received a diploma of higher acting education in 2000. Immediately after that, a talented young man became a member of the troupe of the Ukrainian Theater 19, known for scandalous sharp productions. At the same time, Sergey Babkin and Andrey Zaporozhets founded the 5'nizza group.
Army
Despite the fact that immediately after graduation, Sergey became a sought-after actor, the army, like many other young people of the same age, was waiting for him. Having once received a summons, the young man went to the draft board. In the evening, after speaking to the audience, Sergey went to the Theater 19 directorate and told why he could no longer take part in the performances.
The leadership of Theater 19 did not want to lose one of their best actors. The general, whom the administration had asked to cover up the youth, first refused. However, in the evening, he called the theater himself and gave his consent to the release of the actor from military service, adding that his wife insisted on this.
Sergey's work: acting achievements
Sergey Babkin began speaking in front of the audience while studying at the institute. As a 3rd year student, the actor became a member of the Kharkov club "Mask", where he worked as a mime. Appeared during his years of acting acting Sergei and on television. For some time he led the Salon TV program on the Tonis television channel.
The actor’s diploma work was one of the roles in the play “Julia Slavlu” “Theater 19”. After graduating from Kharkov University, Sergei in the same theater participated in such productions as:
- Our Hamlet
- "Schmuck",
- "Doors".
Later, the actor received several roles in the movie. Sergey acted in films such as, for example, “Rejection”, “Happy End”, “How to Make a Woman”.
Musician career
Founded in 2000 by Sergey and Andrey, the 5'nizza group gained popularity among music fans in Russia and Ukraine already in 2002. The first serious performances of this group took place in Moscow. Initially, the concerts of musicians were attended by no more than a hundred spectators. But over time, the number of fans of the group grew to several thousand people.
In 2003, 5'nizza released their debut album, Friday. The harmonious mixture of different musical styles - hip-hop, acoustic rock and reggae, shocked the fans and was received by them very favorably. The first album of the group was a fantastic success.
The second Friday album “O5” was released in 2005. This time, the musicians' work was approved not only by fans, but also by many venerable Russian and Ukrainian music critics.
After a tour in Poland in 2007, the 5'nizza group, unfortunately, broke up due to disagreements regarding its future line-up. From this moment began the solo career of Sergei Babkin. For all the time of his work, the musician has released such popular albums as:
- "Bis";
- "Son";
- "Hurrah!";
- "Sergeevna."
Sergey also founded the KPSS group and recorded the album “Brussels”, which was also well received by the fans, together with the leader of the Ocean Elzy team Svyatoslav Vakarchuk.
In 2015, to the delight of the fans, Sergei and Andrey Zaporozhets announced the reunion of the Friday group. Just a couple of months later, a new clip of the collective “I Believe in You” was released. Later, the group also released the album I Believe in You.
