Biography: early years
Marat Melsovich Hovhannisyan was born on August 15, 1970 in Chisinau. His childhood years passed in Moldova. Marat studied at a school with a physical and mathematical bias, which he graduated with a gold medal. He continued his studies at the Polytechnic Institute of Chisinau. In 1992, Hovhannisyan received a diploma in engineering engineer.
After graduation, Marat moved to Moscow. There, he began to work by profession in various commercial structures, which at that time were actively developing.
Career
In 2004, Hovhannisyan took the helm of the Concord group of companies. It included several structures that specialized in information technology and construction. Among the well-known and large-scale projects of Concord are the construction of the Moscow City retail and hotel complex and the restoration of the buildings of the Moscow Kremlin. Hovhannisyan stayed in this post until 2010.

Corruption scandal
In November 2016, Hovhannisyan was detained in the Russian capital. He was accused of fraud. The investigation concluded that during the construction of the Zenit-Arena, Hovhannisyan illegally involved the Theater and Decoration Workshops company and withdrew 50 million rubles through it. This money on securities was intended for the purchase of video panels. According to investigators, the former official put at least 28 million rubles in his pocket.
