The war in Vietnam is one of the worst conflicts of the second half of the 20th century. This confrontation, which was attended in addition to Vietnam, the USA and the USSR, began with the civil war in South Vietnam. Subsequently, North Vietnam was drawn into the armed conflict, which received the support of China and the USSR, as well as the United States and its allies, fighting on the side of South Vietnam. About this brutal war, wonderful films were made that were worth watching.

Films that have become classics of world cinema
The Apocalypse Today (1979). The film is directed by Francis Ford Coppola, filmed on Joseph Conrad's novel Heart of Darkness. The plot of the film tells about special forces captain Willard, who goes to fulfill a mission in the jungle of Cambodia. The purpose of the mission is to find and destroy the crazy Colonel Kurtz, who began to command the local troops and create lawlessness. Real world cinema stars played in this film: Marlon Brando, Dennis Hopper, Robert Duvall, Martin Sheen and others. The Apocalypse Today received the Academy Award in two categories, the Golden Palm Branch of the Kansk Film Festival and three Golden Globe Awards.
The Deer Hunter (1978). The film tells the story of three friends who live and work in a small industrial town in Pennsylvania. The Vietnam War will affect the life of each of them. After it, a peaceful life will never be the same. Heavy military drama, with amazing acting. At one time, this film caused a sharp rejection from the USSR and the countries of the socialist camp. During his premiere screening at the Berlin Film Festival, a real scandal erupted: the USSR delegation defiantly left the hall. Her example was followed by the delegations of Cuba, East Germany, Poland, Hungary and Bulgaria. In 2006, the film "The Deer Hunter", according to a survey by the American Film Institute, took 53rd place among the hundred best American cinema works in history.
The All-Metal Shell (1978). This film is worth seeing if only because it was shot by the greatest contemporary director, Stanley Kubrick. Young Americans drafted into the army, before getting to the front, are trained in training camps. Immediately upon arrival, recruits begin hard training, the commanders subject them to constant ridicule and humiliation. Some recruits get stronger, while others break. They have a real war ahead. And this makes it even worse. The film turned out to be very tough, but unusual and exciting.
