A memorial service for the dead is a special memorial service, during which the clergyman commemorates the dead people with the goal of forgiving the sins of the dead. The practice of prayers for people who have completed their earthly journey was common in the first centuries of Christianity. In addition, already in the Old Testament you can find certain prayers for the dead.
At present, funeral services are performed in all Orthodox churches. Most often, this type of worship is sent on Sunday after the liturgy and prayers. In large cathedrals, where services are held daily, a memorial service can be performed separately in the morning (for example, in the extreme throne of the cathedral).
To order a requiem in the temple is very simple. To do this, you must come to the House of God and turn to the church shop or to the person receiving the notes. The names of those deceased whom you wish to remember at the memorial service should be mentioned. It is worth mentioning that a requiem can be ordered in advance (for the following memorial services). Therefore, if a person did not have time directly to the memorial service in the temple, do not be upset.
For an Orthodox person, it is advisable not only to write down the names of the deceased at the requiem, but also to attend the commemoration of the deceased loved ones.
