Going on vacation by the river or on the sea coast in summer, as well as when crossing a frozen reservoir in winter, it is necessary to remember certain rules of behavior. This will help to avoid possible danger.
Instruction manual
1
Do not jump into the water with a running start, it is better to go gradually to prepare the body for a sharp change in temperature. Doctors do not recommend being in the water for longer than 15 minutes. The best solution is to swim for 15 minutes, then spend about the same time on the beach, then swim again, etc.
2
If you swam away and felt tired, turn around and swim to the shore. According to experts and experienced swimmers, in order to stay on the water, you need to take a full chest of air and hold your breath. Even if you are carried far from the place where you are located on the shore, do not try to resist the tide. Better succumb to its influence, gradually raking up to the shore.
3
Remember the basic safety rules: do not swim to motor boats, do not dive from bridges or breakwaters, do not swim outside the swimming area, and are not in a state of intoxication. In the water, do not grab the hands or feet of other vacationers. If during swimming a limb has been reduced, pinch yourself by drinking your nails into the skin. The pain should be very strong.
4
When crossing a body of water covered in ice, remember that it is dangerous to go out on the ice during a blizzard, rain, fog. Follow only the beaten paths or along the ski run, stay clear of fishing holes. Do not go on ice with a thickness of less than 12 cm. During the group passage of the reservoir, keep a distance of about 5 m.
5
Did you hear a characteristic crack of ice or did water appear? Without taking your feet off, head towards the shore with sliding movements. If you fall into the water, try to cope with a strong panic. Keep your head as high as possible to avoid getting under water. Grasp the edge of the ice with your elbows, try to pull yourself on them and throw your foot on the ice, roll over and pull up the second leg. Call for help and strictly crawl towards the shore.
note
Get rid of wet clothes as soon as possible and warm yourself with hot tea, attach a few heating pads (to the chest, groin, limbs, head), wrap yourself in blankets. In no case should you drink alcohol.
