According to Part 1 of Article 18 of the Federal Law "On Protection of Consumer Rights", the buyer, having discovered defects in the purchased product, has the right to refuse to fulfill the conditions of the contract of sale and demand to return the amount paid for the goods. In the case of the return of technically complex goods, the situation becomes more complicated.

The law stipulates that if there are deficiencies, the consumer has the right to return technically complex goods to the seller within 15 days. After this period, you can return the goods only if there are significant deficiencies in it. Significant shortcomings are understood to be shortcomings that cannot be eliminated, or their elimination will require costs and time costs disproportionate to the price of the goods, as well as shortcomings that have been repeatedly identified or appear again after their elimination.

You also have the right to demand the replacement of low-quality goods with goods of the same brand or another brand, by making an appropriate recalculation of the price. If you bought a product as part of a promotion involving a discount, it is also refundable. For goods sold on credit, you must return the amount of the loan repaid on the day of return, and the fee for providing it.

Confirm the shortcomings of the goods, in case of refusal of the seller to reimburse its value, will help the examination, which should be carried out within 20 days from the date of return of the goods. In order to avoid substitution of low-quality goods, when transferring them for examination, draw up a transfer-acceptance certificate indicating all the nuances and appearance defects. If, in your opinion, the probability that the seller will deceive you is high, put the returned product in a box and seal it with your signature, thereby excluding the possibility of additional exposure to it before the examination.

You may be present during the examination and quality control of the goods. To do this, you must inform the seller in advance of your desire. If your interests will be protected by a legal representative, apply for a power of attorney. If necessary, for the court, you can record the process and the results of the examination on a video camera, as well as attract outside witnesses. During the verification process, you can make comments and suggestions.

According to the law, technically complex goods include: tractors, motor vehicles with license plates, motorcycles, scooters, boats, snowmobiles, boat motors, yachts, refrigerators, freezers, personal computers, washing machines, motor blocks and cultivators.
