At first glance, the process of writing a journalistic text seems simple: you just need to fix your thoughts on the topic. However, if you do not know the algorithm for working on the text, you can just get confused and "get stuck" in these very thoughts. So, when you start preparing a newspaper or magazine publication, think over the stages of work from beginning to end.
You will need
The ability to collect and analyze information
Instruction manual
1
Select the topic of your publication. As a rule, it is impossible to just sit down and come up with it as soon as such a need arises. Topics of speeches are formed in the mind of a person as he perceives and ponders incoming information from the outside world. To develop these abilities, it will be useful during the day to listen to the news on the radio, read the websites of news agencies and subscribe to the newsletter of companies of interest to you.
2
The next stage of work is the collection of information. It is important to find the maximum information on the selected topic and to find, if any, all opposing points of view on the problem. You have the right to agree or argue with the views presented, but they must be taken into account in order not to show the situation one-sided and flat. Sources of information can be documents, photographs, video and audio recordings, Internet archives and, of course, people whose reviews and comments are especially valuable, but also need to be carefully checked (using other sources).
3
Having received and considered the maximum amount of information, you are able to take a fresh look at your topic - to reconsider, perhaps, a biased attitude at some points, to better understand all the subtleties of the case. At this stage, the creator of the publication forms the idea of its text, which consists of two parts. It includes a supporting idea - a system of views and value guidelines of the author, as well as a working idea - the message that he wants to convey to his readers on the basis of a supporting idea. To better understand your own text, articulate these ideas for yourself as accurately as possible.
4
Then you can make a plan for a future publication, fixing key points in it and thinking over which order of thoughts will look most logical.
5
Use this hint to write text. Keep in mind that the facts and conclusions cited should be proportionate in scope of content. That is, each conclusion should be supported by a sufficient number of significant facts. Also pay attention to the style of presentation of the material. It depends on your goals and features of potential readers. Your language of expression, symbols and subtext must be understood by the group of people to whom you are addressing.
6
Read the finished text, correct errors and typos. Next time, return to publication only after a day, or, if this is not possible, at least after a couple of hours. With a “fresh look” you will see flaws that you did not notice before. For the same purpose, it is useful to read the text aloud and involve a person you trust in its discussion. If you have free time, double-check again all the facts that you mention in the publication, as well as the spelling of the names of people and the official names of posts and organizations.
