In the Middle Ages, the Order of Masons was very common, it consisted of the most advanced minds that led society in the XVII century: Bockle, Bacon, Leibniz, Jan Comenius, faces of royal blood. The purpose of the Masons, according to their statements, is to carry and preserve spiritual blessings for all of humanity. Today, this order also consists of thousands of people. A hallmark of this community were the famous Masonic secrets.

A change in the charter of Masons occurred in 1717, when Freemasonry became "speculative" (or "philosophical"). All members of the fraternity were ordered to keep certain words, signs and handshakes secret, they had to respect them and refrain from demonstrating them in public. Over time, mystery became an integral part of the cult, and despite the publication of many secrets in 1730, the Masons did not cease to honor their charter.
One of the main secrets of the Masons was an unusual and very complicated ceremony of admitting new members to society (the box). Blindfolded, the “profane” was brought to a certain place where the rest of the members of the box had already gathered. Having stepped on the inscribed signs (their meaning was revealed only after entering the order), he solemnly reads the text of the oath. In the case of betrayal or disclosure of secrets, he betrays his soul to eternal damnation, and his body - death from the sword of his brothers. The new member is handed a white leather apron, a symbol of the masons fraternity, men's gloves and a silver spatula - from now on he is called upon to "build the Great Temple of humanity."
For different lodges, the ceremony could be slightly different - secret signs, secret words, figures were given to the accepted members, tattoos were made that other Masons could recognize. Even more secret and little-known was the initiation ceremony to a higher degree - in general, there were 33 steps in the hierarchical ladder of Freemasonry.
The principle of the Masonic Order is based on secrecy. Modern Freemasonry considers itself strong enough, therefore does not see the need for conspiracy, but general awareness cannot cover covert work, hidden Freemasonry. Having vowed to remain silent at the ceremony of entry into the box, the member of the box is now obliged to fulfill all the instructions of the higher members.
The student has no idea about the work of a comrade, who in turn does not know anything about the goals and work of the master. Students know only a few members of the box, the rest are unknown to them. In the same way, the master knows his immediate superior, and does not know the rest (although, perhaps, they live next door to him). Such a secret society system operates at all levels of the hierarchy. The order given from above is executed implicitly and secretly.
Masons, located on the lower steps, play the role of only performers. The main secrets are hidden at the top of the pyramid - only adepts and princes of the Masonic lodge know them. Only they determine the true goals of the order - and control all the others. Sacred knowledge was so carefully hidden from those around that many mysteries of past centuries are now impossible to find out.
