A citizen of a foreign state who has received a residence permit in Moscow subsequently has the right to become a citizen of Russia and reside in the capital permanently. The document is issued to stateless persons, for them a residence permit replaces an identity document before issuing a Russian passport.

You have the right to obtain a residence permit in Moscow if you have temporarily lived in the capital for at least one year and can confirm with documents that you have individual housing or other living space. Your children under the age of 18 have the same right.

To obtain a residence permit in Moscow, collect the package of necessary documents. Provide the Federal Migration Service with a national passport with a provisional registration mark. On the established forms, write the statement in duplicate.

Confirm by documenting the fact that you can support yourself with your family, that is, you have a monthly income within the cost of living. If you are incapable of work, then provide a pension certificate or income statement of the person you are dependent on.

In the FMS, provide notarized copies of the birth certificates of the children and you, the marriage certificate. Assure the notary of the translation of the national passport and marriage certificate if the marriage was concluded outside the Russian Federation. Your family union must be legalized in Russia.

Your child between the ages of 14 and 18 must give written consent to move to Moscow for permanent residence. Come with the child to a notary public who will certify the signature of the minor.

Attach copies of all sheets of the national passport and the document of identification of the spouse to the package of documents. Prepare photos of the right size in the amount of 4 pieces.

Be sure to provide a certificate that you and your family members are not infected with HIV. You will need a document issued by a health care institution that confirms that you, as well as family members, are not sick with drug addiction and diseases that are dangerous to others.

After transferring all the executed documents to the FMS, wait for their consideration within six months. Therefore, pay attention to the expiration date of a temporary residence permit in the capital in order to draw up documents on time.
