On the eve of the election, some citizens are puzzled by the question: "How to vote if I will not be in the city that day?" For such cases, absentee ballots have been specially developed. The main thing is to know where and when to get them.
You will need
- - passport;
- - statement.
Instruction manual
1
First, contact the territorial (TEC) or precinct (PEC) election commissions. You must bring your written application here with a request for an absentee ballot. If you yourself cannot do this due to certain reasons (poor health, inability to personally approach the commission, etc.), then the person you appoint as your representative can write a statement for you. The only thing that he must confirm such a representation is a notarized power of attorney. This provision is regulated by paragraph 3 of Article 74 of the Federal Law "On Elections".
2
Remember that in your application you must indicate the reason why you will not be able to come to your precinct on election day. The reason can be any: departure on vacation or business trip, permanent residence during this period in the country, etc.
3
Take into account the fact that you can receive an absentee ballot no earlier than 60 days before the day of voting. This is due to the fact that for each election campaign the Central Election Commission is developing an individual form of absentee ballot. And they confirm its form no later than 60 days before the election. As practice shows, territorial commissions issue absentee forms for 45-20 days, and precinct ones - for 19. The deadline when you can get a certificate is a day before the voting day.
4
When receiving paper, be sure to indicate your passport number. Also, if you receive a certificate at the territorial election commission, sign in a special document - the register of issuance of absentee ballots. If you take it to the precinct commission, then the list should be put directly on the voters list. This is necessary so that you are excluded from the lists on your site.
5
Carefully check the correctness of the data indicated in the absentee certificate. Be sure to include your last name, first name, middle name, number of the polling station, where you must be included in the lists by registration. And, of course, the absentee ballot must be confirmed by the seal of the commission that issued it to you and endorsed by the signature of the election commission member.
note
If you lose your absentee ballot, it is not issued again.
