Contrary to popular belief, obtaining British citizenship is a difficult task, but it can be solved. Of course, the collection and execution of all necessary documents will require quite a long time, but with a certain persistence, the goal will ultimately be achieved. The main thing is to strictly follow all bureaucratic requirements and instructions.

Instruction manual
1
Obtaining British citizenship is possible on three grounds: after three years of marriage with a British resident, in the case of six years of stay in the professional category or simply on the basis of eleven years of permanent legal residence in the country. Moreover, for all three categories there is a general mandatory requirement - to have a permanent residence permit (Indefinite Leave to Remain) for at least one year.
2
In addition to the established terms of permanent residence for obtaining English citizenship, the applicant must satisfy a number of requirements: he must be over 18 years old, be in his right mind, have the intention to continue to reside in the UK in the future, as well as be fluent in English and have a good knowledge of lifestyle. A special exam ESOL (English for Speakers of other languages) at the level of Entry3 and above is taken for knowledge of the language and lifestyle.
3
It is important to know that the same exam is also taken before obtaining a residence permit, so if its results were successful, they can be reused when applying for citizenship. If the applicant does not speak the language at a sufficient level, he may be asked to take a special training course at one of the local colleges.
4
In addition to the objective requirements listed above, when considering a citizenship application, the applicant’s personal qualities are also taken into account. To do this, the candidate must provide recommendations from two residents of the UK who have known him for at least three years. Moreover, each person giving a recommendation should be at least 25 years old, be in their right mind and not be a relative of the recommended or second guarantor. Also, a recommendation cannot be issued by an employee of a law firm representing the interests of the applicant.
5
In addition to these conditions, the applicant is required to meet with the duration of his stay in the country. In particular, people living in England by professional or business categories should not be absent from her for more than 450 days for the entire duration of their stay and no more than three months during the year before applying for citizenship. For those who obtain citizenship on the basis of marriage with a resident of the UK, absence from the country should not exceed 270 days for the entire period of residence and no more than three months in the last year before applying for citizenship.
