Letters written by hand and sent by regular rather than e-mail have recently become exotic. Along with this, the rules for processing postal items are gradually forgotten.

Instruction manual
1
The address of the sender of the letter should be located in the upper left corner of the envelope. Write your last name, first name and patronymic in the genitive case.
2
On the next line, enter your address. As a rule, the sequence of writing the area, city, street, house and apartment numbers is not important. However, it is more logical to arrange this information in this order.
3
On the last line write your zip code. Try to write clearly, use block letters and do not shorten the names.
4
In the lower right corner should be the data of the recipient of the letter. The sequence here is the same. Do not forget to indicate the full last name, first name and patronymic of the addressee, as sometimes a passport is required to deliver a letter.
5
In the lower left corner, enter the recipient index in a special form. If you are not sure of its correctness, check it with a mail employee or check on the Russian Post website. The numbers should be written on the model that is on the flap of the envelope. No corrections or blots. Ink of red, yellow and green colors is prohibited.
6
If there are no fields for addresses on the envelope, the procedure and rules for filling in the information remain the same.
7
If you send a letter within any republic that is part of the Russian Federation, you can fill out all the details in the language of this republic, but you will have to duplicate the data in Russian too.
8
On international letters, the addresses of the recipients are written in Latin letters (numbers - Arabic). You can write the address in the language of the recipient country, but be sure to repeat the name of the country in Russian.
Useful advice
If you are not sure of the legibility of your handwriting, print the addresses on the printer and stick them in the appropriate places on the envelope.
