Instruction manual
1
Pay attention to the size of the banknote. Of course, experienced scammers are unlikely to make a mistake with the measurements, but beginners are quite possible. Keep in mind that denominations of up to 1000 r. - 150 mm in length and 65 mm in height. Large bills in 1000 and 5000 p. have parameters: 157 mm by 69 mm. Of course, this does not mean that you should always carry a ruler with you, however, you can compare the suspicious banknote with those that are already in your wallet.
2
Swipe the bill with your hand. Authentic banknotes have a rough surface. Pay special attention to the area where the inscription "Bank of Russia ticket" is located. It should be slightly convex and stand out from the general background.
3
Look at the bill, lifting it to the light. If the banknote is real, you will notice watermarks on it. Turn the bill that side to itself on which its number is written. So, its face value should be visible on the left side, and a fragment of the figure on the right.
4
Pay attention to the signs for the visually impaired, located in the lower left corner of the front side of the bill. They must be present on a banknote of any denomination. If they are not, we can conclude that in front of you is a fake.
5
Take a closer look at another distinguishing mark of genuine notes - a diving metallized thread. When viewed close to it, it is a dashed line consisting of shiny rectangles, but if you take it 30-40 cm away from the eyes against the light, the line will become holistic and clear.
6
Check the bill for color-changing ink. This recommendation is valid for banknotes of 500 r. and higher. The color of the picture element (the emblem of the Bank of Russia, the emblem of the city, etc.) should change depending on the angle at which your view of it falls.
7
Use an ultraviolet lamp. A genuine bill should not glow in blue as it does, for example, ordinary office paper. All signs must comply with the standards. If after checking the suspicions remain, contact the bank with a request to check the bill for authenticity.
