If you find a loss of cash or funds in your account - this is an occasion to contact the police as soon as possible. To start the wheel of protection of your rights, you must write a statement. Since there is no mandatory form for it, it is necessary to be guided, first of all, by common sense.

At the top of the sheet on the left side, write the name of the territorial internal affairs agency in your area where you will apply. Also indicate your last name, first name, patronymic, passport data, actual address, contact information: home and mobile phone number, fax, email address.

Below, in the middle of the sheet, write “Theft of Money Statement”.

In the main text, state the essence of the incident in any form. Indicate in what period of time and where the money was stolen from. Please specify whether it is a theft of cash or cashless funds from a credit card. If you suspect someone of this crime, give information about this person or persons.

At the end of the statement, state the request to initiate a criminal investigation into the theft of money and find the perpetrators. Reference to the norms of the law is not required. Also, ask for a number for which your application will be registered.

Sign the statement, put the current date. If the document is submitted from the organization, it is signed by its head, the signature is certified by a seal.

Submit an application to the territorial internal affairs body in your area in person or through an authorized representative for whom you must draw up a power of attorney. You can also send the application by mail, fax.

If you prefer to contact the police via the Internet, use the website www.112.ru, in the "Urgent Communications" section, select the "Report to Law Enforcement Agencies" link. Then, in the field that appears, select the department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. After reviewing the rules, check the box at the bottom of the page opposite the words "I have read and agree to the rules and procedure for contacting the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs." Fill in the appeared electronic form. Please note that fields marked with an asterisk are required.
