Climatologists are not the first decade to sound the alarm in connection with a significant change in weather in the world. Natural disasters are happening more and more, their consequences are becoming more significant. Natural disasters did not escape Russia, which has faced serious climatic cataclysms in recent years.

One of the main causes of climate change, scientists call global warming. According to Roshydromet, over the past hundred years, air temperature in Russia has risen by 1.29 ° C, while, according to the Fourth Assessment Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, the global temperature has risen by 0.74 ° C. This suggests that for Russia the problems of climate change may be more significant than for other countries.
The fact that the climate is changing, the Russians themselves see. Abnormal winter frosts give way to no less abnormal summer heat, and the difference between day and night temperatures also increases. Unusual climatic events on the territory of Russia even led to talk that it was nothing but the consequences of using the US climate weapons. True, no one has yet been able to present serious evidence of this version.
Satellite observation data indicate that the Arctic ice cover is steadily decreasing. On the one hand, this gives Russia certain advantages in the development of the Arctic shelf, and it is possible to actively use the Northern Sea Route. On the other hand, warming leads to thawing of permafrost, which turns it into impenetrable swamps. Climatic changes have a very big impact on agricultural production - in particular, the abnormal summer heat of 2010 led to the death of grain crops in vast areas. The grain harvest in 2010 was one of the lowest in Russia in recent years, the government was even forced to impose restrictions on its exports, so as not to increase the price of bread domestically.
One of the new natural disasters for Russia were tornadoes. So, on the first of August 2011, a tornado struck Blagoveshchensk. He raged for thirteen minutes, as a result, 28 people were hospitalized, one of whom died from his injuries. The total damage to the infrastructure of the city exceeded 80 million rubles. Previously, large tornadoes in Russia were recorded only over the waters of the seas, where they could not cause significant damage. The case in Blagoveshchensk was the first example of the passage of a tornado over a large city. It is worth noting that in the United States, where tornadoes are not uncommon, dozens of people die from them every year.
Climatologists warn that climatic anomalies will soon become commonplace for Russians. The number of droughts, frosts, hurricanes in the coming years will only grow. In some regions, an increase in the number of earthquakes is possible. In connection with the increasing summer heat, the number of fires will increase.
The main cause of global warming, scientists call the release of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere as a result of human activities. Nevertheless, there is still a lot of ambiguity on this issue, some independent experts call the guilt of man in global warming a myth. In their opinion, the Earth’s climate changes are caused by natural causes, throughout the history of the planet this has happened many times, and you just need to get used to it.
