From the biography of Nikolai Gnatyuk
The future popular artist was born on September 14, 1952 in the village of Nemirovka (Ukraine). His mother taught in elementary grades, his father led the collective farm. After graduating from high school, Nikolai entered the music and pedagogical faculty of the Rivne Pedagogical Institute. Already in his youth, Gnatyuk decided on a profession: he dreamed of becoming a musician.
Climbing to the heights of creativity for Gnatyuk began with participation in the ensemble "We are Odessa citizens". The future singer honed his performing talent during the army service: Gnatyuk served in the ensemble of the Guards Army, created on the basis of a group of Soviet troops in Germany.
At the end of the service, Nikolai takes lessons in the music studio of the Leningrad Music Hall. In the same years, Gnatyuk made many tours around the USSR as part of the famous ensemble "Friendship", which was popular in the country.
