Childhood, youth
Philip Egorov was born on June 8, 1978 in the city of Oryol. Little is known about his childhood. Philip grew up in an ordinary family, attended school, but from childhood was fond of sports. He liked to play with the boys in the yard, to ride on ice. This led the talented boy to such a sport as bobsled. Egorov admitted in an interview that he could not take part in singles. Team games have always attracted him much more. They can count on the help of comrades in difficult times and provide support themselves. Everything is complicated in the team, but this makes the competition interesting.
Philip finished school well, combining sport and study, and then began to train hard. He tried to enter a higher educational institution, but because of a busy schedule, he could not pay the necessary attention to the preparation. It was possible to arrive from the second attempt. Philip graduated from high school in 2001, having studied at the department of "Physical Culture and Sports".
Career
Philip Egorov was involved in several sports, but eventually settled on bobsled. He trained in his native Orel, but when it became clear that the athlete had high expectations, he began to travel to the capital for training camps. His coach Alexander Rybalov admitted that he immediately saw a huge potential in young Philippe.
Bobsleigh is a rather complicated sport and it was not always possible to train in Orel, but Yegorov managed to bring his skills to a high level. In games, he played the role of overclocking.
The transition to coach Oleg Sokolov became crucial for Philip. New opportunities opened before him. Since 2000, he began to take part in serious competitions. At the championships of Russia, he won prizes in his team. In 2004, he took part in the World Cup and won the gold medal in the two.
The coach characterizes Philip as an unusually talented, brave player who is not alien to the sense of team spirit.
Over his sports career, Yegorov received many awards in the fours, including:
- gold medal at the championship of Russia (2001)
- bronze medal of the championship of Russia (2004);
- silver medal of the championship of Russia (2000, 2003, 2004).
In bob starts he also managed to win awards:
- gold medal of the championship of Russia in the four (2001);
- gold medal of the world championship in the composition of the deuce (2004);
- bronze medals of the world championships in the two (2000, 2001, 2004).
In 2006, Philip Egorov took part in the Olympic Games in Turin. As part of the four, he won a silver medal. This was a truly landmark event. Egorov still recalls how, after the announcement of the results, he went into the locker room and cried with happiness. It was the first medal in this sport in Russia. Athletes from the Oryol region managed to do the almost impossible.

Yegorov does not remember the award ceremony because he could not believe what was happening. After a press conference was held, at which everyone was interested in the state of his health. During the game, Philip hit his head hard, but he was saved by a protective helmet.
The Olympics itself and the organization of the games made a lasting impression on the athlete. He didn’t like everything. Philip Egorov complained about Italian cuisine that was not familiar to him and the poor roads leading to the Olympic village. Getting to the training site was a big problem. But all these minor misunderstandings could not spoil the great joy of victory.
After the Olympics in 2006, Philip Egorov had big plans, but, unfortunately, he no longer took part in games of this level. The athlete continues to train and train the younger generation. He actively teaches and admits that he enjoys coaching a lot.
Egorov was awarded the title of Honored Master of Sports of Russia, and in 2007 he was awarded the Order of Friendship for his great contribution to the development of physical culture and sports.
In one of the interviews, Yegorov admitted that he considers it not very deserved that the accelerators are in the shadow of the pilots in the bobsled. But he still would not want to become a pilot, although there have been such cases in the history of this sport. Philip does not doubt his own significance. He assures that without strong booster boosters it is difficult to achieve high results. They must be well developed in the physical plane, hardy. After all, during the game it is useful not only to push a heavy bean, but also to load, unload it.
