Deepak Chopra: facts from a biography
The future doctor and writer was born in New Delhi (India) on October 22, 1946. Deepak's father was a diversified person: he worked as a priest, a cardiologist, served in the British army as a lieutenant. Chopra's grandfather was an adherent of traditional Hindu medicine. The traditions of the family, in which the western and eastern systems of healing came together, influenced the formation of Deepak's worldview.
Chopra received his education at the school of St. Columbus. He then continued his studies at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences.
In the late 60s, Chopra and his wife Rita moved to the United States. Here, a young Indian underwent clinical practice and graduated from residency at the Mühlenberg Hospital and the University of Virginia Hospital, after which he successfully passed the exam, becoming a doctor in endocrinology and therapy.
In the late 90s, Chopra participated in the creation of the so-called Well-Being Center, whose work was based on the principles of Ayurveda.
Currently, the world famous writer lives in San Diego.
