The future actor, screenwriter and director was born in Moscow on October 16, 1947. His parents were directly related to creativity: his father was a famous playwright and songwriter, his mother a ballerina. Vani's father had a rare talent as a reciter. The works on his poems were performed by Leonid Utesov, Alla Pugacheva. Mom served at the Stanislavsky Theater.
In 1969, Ivan successfully graduated from the Shchukin Theater School (acting department, workshop of Leonid Shikhmatov and Vera Lvova). In the next decade, the actor served in the Taganka Theater. He was friends with Vladimir Vysotsky. Dykhovichny took part in almost every dramatic production of his theater. Ivan combined work on stage as an actor with his studies - his plans included becoming a director.
Career of Ivan Dykhovichny
In 1982, Dykhovichny completed his studies at the Higher Courses of scriptwriters and directors (workshop of Eldar Ryazanov). Among the teachers of the courses was the famous Andrei Tarkovsky.
Having experimented in the short film genre, in 1988 Ivan Vladimirovich made his debut as a real director with the film "Black Monk". He wrote the script for this picture together with Sergey Soloviev.
In the mid-1990s, Dykhovichny created and conducted the Trick 22 program on NTV. Then he worked for a long time as the chief director of the Rossiya channel. Under the leadership of Dykhovichny, the television channel changed the broadcasting grid and design of programs. When the channel was flooded with soap operas and many cultural programs closed, Ivan Vladimirovich left this job.
In 2005, Dykhovichny created authoring programs at the TVC, hosted the program "Incredible Stories" on REN-TV. Later he represented various films of previous years on the Domashny channel.
Dykhovichny possessed versatile talents. In particular, he wrote songs to poems of 19th century poets and performed them himself.
