Ministry of Emergency Situations stands for the Ministry of Emergency Situations. For fifteen years of work, specialists of the government department have achieved good results that are important for the country.
The history of the creation of the Ministry begins in 1990 (December 27), when a decision was made to establish this structure. After 5 years, by decree of the President of the Russian Federation, this day was declared Day of the Rescuer. In 1994, the Civil Defense Museum was transformed into the Central Museum of the Ministry of the Russian Federation for Civil Defense, Emergencies and Disaster Management. It collects, studies, stores and restores historical monuments.
The main tasks of rescuers is to protect the population from various emergencies (natural disasters, fires, terrorist operations, man-made situations) and their possible prevention in the future. In other words, the EMERCOM of Russia is obliged not only to eliminate the consequences of emergency situations on an emergency basis, but also to develop civil defense projects.
The central apparatus of the EMERCOM of Russia consists of the chief minister, his deputies, the chief military expert, the chief inspector for fire supervision, departments and administrations.
Psychodiagnostic support is of great importance in the work of the Ministry, without which it is quite difficult to help people in emergency situations. Teams of specialists in the field of psychology make field trips to places of tragic accidents, and since 2006 a round-the-clock telephone line has appeared. Operators at any time, day or night, provide psychological assistance and inform the population about the rules of conduct in emergency situations.
A promising task of the Ministry is the continuous improvement of the system in order to reduce the negative consequences to a minimum. The concept of psychological support based on the principles of integrity and full coverage of events is also being developed.
