Eurovision is a music competition held annually and broadcast on television. One participant from each country of the European Broadcasting Union can take part in it. Broadcasting is carried out not only in Europe, but also in those countries that do not even participate in the competition (India, Egypt, Vietnam, Jordan and many others).

The current Eurovision rules are somewhat different from those that were in force during the presentation of the very first competition. It was held in 1956 in the Swiss city of Lugano. Initially, there were only 7 participating countries, each artist chose two songs. Later, only 1 composition was taken from each. This tradition has survived to this day.
2
This competition has a few more basic rules. Firstly, the performer and his song are selected in the country participating in Eurovision. The musical composition is presented at the competition exclusively "live", that is, without a phonogram. When all the participants sing their songs, the audience vote begins. It lasts for 15 minutes, during which everyone chooses the most liked performance. However, there are some restrictions, namely: the viewer will not be able to choose a song and a singer from his country.
3
The jury considers all votes and sums them by country (for example, separately for Russia, Italy, France and so on). The winner will be the country that will gain the most votes. She will receive the right to host the next Eurovision Song Contest.
4
Noteworthy is the rule about the language of execution. In the eighties and nineties it was believed that the performer should sing a song only in the state language of his country. Then this restriction was lifted, and since 2000, a participant can choose a song in any language that he wants to sing.

Eurovision has its own records, or rather, champions. Among them, the country that won the most victories is Ireland. She won the competition as much as 7 times. The next three, it is almost not inferior to Ireland - Britain, France and Luxembourg. Each of these countries won 5 times. Great Britain was noted in one more nomination: the country that most often hosted Eurovision (8 times).
