A life
Bodrov Sergey Sergeevich was born on December 27, 1971 in the family of a famous director and art critic. In childhood, Sergei did not differ practically from his peers, except that he was a little more independent than his classmates. He loved to be alone and in his solitude found his happiness. Sergey studied at a school with in-depth study of the French language and was going to enter VGIK.
However, his father dissuaded Sergei from entering the faculty of directing, explaining that cinema is a passion, and if it is not there, then it is better not to start. Apparently, such a formulation suited Sergei, because he deliberately rejected the attempt to storm the All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography and went to the history department of Moscow State University to study art history.
Sergey really became interested in art, graduated with honors, entered graduate school and defended his dissertation, becoming a candidate of science. However, the passion for cinema overpowered everything. In 1995, he asked his father to attend the shooting of the film "Prisoner of the Caucasus." However, without thinking twice, Bodrov Sr. offered his son the role of the second plan - conscript Vani Zhilin. Sergey coped with the task, the result of which were numerous awards received at various festivals.
Prior to the "Prisoner of the Caucasus, " Sergei Bodrov starred in episodes in the films "I Hate You, " "Sir" and "The White King, the Red Queen."
Trips to festivals made it possible for Sergey to get to know and communicate with different creative people. Significant was the meeting of Sergei Bodrov with director Alexei Balabanov, who preferred to remove non-professional actors in his paintings. The result of the meeting was Sergey’s participation in three paintings by Balabanov: “Brother”, “Brother-2” and “War”.
