The Assumption Lent is the shortest of all and is dedicated to the repose of the Virgin and her ascension to heaven. In terms of the severity of food restrictions, it is similar to Lent, but since it passes during a period of abundance of fruits and vegetables, it is much easier to comply with it.

During the two weeks that it lasts, it is forbidden to eat meat, fish and other products of animal origin. It is understood that it is impossible to eat them not only in their pure form, but also all finished products where they enter. Mayonnaise, all baked goods with milk, eggs and butter and other similar dishes fall under the ban.
Fish is allowed for food only on August 19, on the day of the Transfiguration of the Lord, which is otherwise called the Apple Savior. And if until this day apples of a new harvest were not consumed, now you can safely include them in the diet.
A lot of controversy is about seafood, which do not belong to the family of fish and are mollusks, but at the same time they are living creatures. The Church does not explicitly prohibit their use, but at the same time, squids, mussels and caviar are not included in the list of what can be eaten in the Assumption Post.
On weekdays, not only animal fats, but also vegetable fats are not consumed, so food needs to be cooked without oil. Although on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, this problem will not bother, since food must be eaten raw. On Saturday and Sunday, indulgences are allowed, dishes are prepared with a small amount of oil.
Among what you can eat at the Assumption Post, there are fruits and vegetables, which in August appear in abundance in the markets. Delicious and varied dishes can be prepared on the basis of eggplant, zucchini, tomatoes, peppers and other gifts of nature. There are no problems even with desserts: watermelons, melons, peaches, apples, pears, grapes - this is just a little that is no less tasty than sweets or other forbidden sweets.
What is forbidden in fasting also includes alcohol, although a small amount of dry wine is allowed on weekends. Each believer makes his fasting menu on his own, but it is much more important not just to adhere to food restrictions, but to remember the spiritual component of any fasting.
