Alexander Burmistrov is a Russian hockey player playing as a central striker. It was considered as one of the most promising center forwards of recent years, as evidenced by repeated calls to the Russian team and attention from overseas specialists.
Alexander Olegovich Burmistrov is a native of the Republic of Tatarstan. Born in Kazan on October 21, 1991. Since childhood, the boy was distinguished by a love of outdoor games. From an early age he began to get involved in sports. Until that moment, when Alexander decided to completely devote his life to hockey, he loved to drive the ball in the yard with his peers. Despite the fact that Burmistrov didn’t have a football future, he still likes to watch some football matches and discuss them with his friends.
The beginning of the hockey career of Alexander Burmistrov
The hockey sports biography began in his native Kazan. However, the striker was not able to break into the main structure of “Ak Bars”. In 2009, the player decided to go to North America in order to gain experience with renowned overseas specialists. Of great help in such a difficult matter was the fact that the NHL Atlanta Thrashers team in 2010 drafted a promising striker.
Burmistrov spent his first season overseas in the Ontario Youth League. And already from the 2010-2011 season he was able to break into the core of Atlanta. Work on training, creativity in the approach to the game itself had the best effect. Already in his first season in the NHL, Alexander Burmistrov was able to play 74 matches, in which he scored 20 points (6 +14).
The next season, the center forward began in another club. He moved into the ranks of the Canadian club Winnipeg Jets, in which he played until 2013. Burmistrov’s statistics in Winnipeg have improved significantly. For two seasons (the second of which turned out to be less successful), he was able to distinguish himself seventeen times.
First return from the NHL
In 2013, Burmistrov decided to return to Russia. He signed a contract with Kazan “Ak Bars”, in which he spent two full season. He played in more than a hundred matches, marked twenty goals. Burmistrov’s statistics on assists looks more productive - the center forward assisted his partners 44 times.
Burmistrov's second attempt to gain a foothold in the NHL
In 2015, having gained experience in the KHL, Burmistrov again decided to try his hand overseas. The next four years, Alexander played with the most famous hockey players in the world. During his second attempt to gain a foothold in the NHL, Burmistrov played in three clubs. From 2015 to 2017 he defended the colors of the team from Winnipeg, after which he played for Arizona and Vancouver.
In “Vancouver Canucks” Burmistrov began to receive less playing practice (spent only 24 matches in the regular season), after which he returned to Russia.
In Russia, Burmistrov played the 2017-2018 season for Ak Bars and made a significant contribution to the victory of the team in the Gagarin Cup.
Since the season 2018-2019 he is a player of the Ufa “Salavat Yulaev”.
