The future famous Russian football player was born on December 4, 1975 in the city of Kizilyurt, which is located in Dagestan. By nationality, Budunov is an Avar. As a child, he was involved in many sports, including basketball and judo. The family supported the boy's hobbies. When Budun was nineteen, he came to the big football. His first club was Argo (Kaspiysk), a third league team. A year later, the athlete moved to “Anji” (Makhachkala). The first years he played in the third league, being a member of the club’s second team. In 2000, the team in which Budunov played, moved to the top division.
In subsequent years, Budun Khachabekovich Budunov played for the team “Tom” and FC “Moscow”. In the spring of 2006, a football player on lease moved to Terek (Grozny). In early 2008, Budunov decided to end his career in sports. A few months later he was appointed to the post of Deputy Minister for Sport and Physical Culture of Dagestan. Subsequently, Budunov becomes president of the football union of this republic. The experience and knowledge gained in previous years on the football field helped Budunov cope with the duties of a new position.
In 2016, Budunov continued to work in the public service, becoming the deputy head of the Khasavyurt district of Dagestan.
