Childhood, youth
Oleg Valerianovich was born on September 26, 1934. The family lived in Moscow, his father was the director of the Polytechnic of Communications, and his mother became a doctor of philological sciences. Oleg had a half-brother George, he disappeared during the war. Grandfather and grandmother also lived in the family. Oleg’s grandmother was a very powerful person, actively participated in raising children.
During the war, the family was evacuated to Tbilisi, where Oleg was ill with tuberculosis. In 1943, they again began to live in the capital. Oleg went to school, studied not very well, did not like mathematics.
Basilashvili became interested in theater, often attended performances and decided to study acting. He attended a troupe under the Ministry of Foreign Trade. After school, Oleg entered the Moscow Art Theater, where he studied at the course of Pavel Massalsky.
Creative biography
After studying, Basilashvili and his wife Doronin Tatyana were assigned to the Stalingrad Drama Theater by distribution, but after 3 months they quit and moved to Leningrad.
The couple settled in the Lenkom, but then transferred to the BDT. Doronina received an invitation from Tovstonogov George, she asked her husband to be hired too. However, Oleg got the role of minor characters, and his wife soon became a leading actress.
In 1956, Basilashvili appeared in the movie "Bride", this was his first film work. Then there was a ten-year break. It ended when the actor was invited to star in the movie Eternal Call.
In that period, Oleg began to be given interesting roles in the theater, he played, as a rule, comedic characters. During his time at the BDT, Basilashvili participated in many plays, there were almost 50 of them.
In 1977, the actor became famous throughout the country thanks to his role in the movie "Office Romance". In 1979, the movie Autumn Marathon was released, where Oleg again got the role of the main character.
In 1982, the movie "Station for Two" appeared, which also became a favorite for many. In 1985, Basilashvili worked in the filming of the film "Confrontation".
The actor remained in demand in the nineties. He was invited to play in the movie "Prediction", "Dreams". In 2005, Basilashvili received the role of Woland in the movie "Master and Margarita." Later Oleg Valerianovich starred in the TV series "New Life", "Farmer".
Basilashvili is also involved in politics. In 2016, he became an authorized representative of Yabloko.
