And if they were able to exceed the tasks set - five-year plans, to increase the pace of production, then, in addition to universal respect and honor, they were awarded the title Hero of Social Labor and other honorary awards. So the activities of the head of the Kostroma collective farm Alexandra Evdokimova in the middle of the 20th century did not go unnoticed by the authorities, and she became an honorary worker.
Childhood and adolescence A.I. Evdokimova
Born in the village of Kostroma region. The girl’s large family was not rich, her parents were from peasants, her father was Ivan Egorov, a middle-income worker. Alexandra Ivanovna was the 13th child in the family.

The girl, having before her eyes an example of how her parents and numerous brothers and sisters go to work on a collective farm every day, also grew very hardworking, from childhood she was active and responsible. Having studied four classes at a local rural school, having mastered the basics of letters and counts, not having received any other education, in 1922 she got a job in her father's collective farm, where she worked until 1934. There her future spouse noticed.
In 1934, she married a man from a neighboring village - Sergey Evdokimov. And she took his last name, which she did not change until the end of her life. After marriage, she changed her place of residence and work. Alexandra Evdokimova moved to her husband in the village of Petrilovo and was immediately hired by the Petrilovsk collective farm as a laborer.
In 1939, men were called up to participate in the Soviet-Finnish war. Sergey Evdokimov went to the front and was killed almost immediately. So at 29, Alexander became a widow.
In order not to feel lonely and to be as useful as possible to Soviet society, Alexandra Ivanovna, having buried her husband, moved to neighboring Shemyakino and settled with her cousin. At first she worked as an ordinary pig in the collective farm "Five-Year Plan". In the same place in 1947 she met her second husband and married again - to the employee Evstigneev Anatoly Ivanovich.
Labor Merits and Achievements
The Great Patriotic War began, and in 1941 the entire remaining capable male population was called up to the front, regardless of occupation and positions held. During this period, the position of foreman of the collective farm field team, in which Alexandra Ivanovna worked, was vacated. And the hardworking woman was promoted to the collective farm leader. In this position, she began to get paid differently - instead of a daily wage, she began to be paid piecework.
The following year, 1942, Evdokimova was appointed head of the livestock farm of the same economy. She was aimed at improving production, building up the pace, and in pursuit of innovative innovations she began to work closely with the nearby Karavaevo pedigree farm. Attracted to the development of a senior livestock specialist, a talented and promising employee S.I. Steiman, who proposed and managed to re-equip the herd of the collective farm, bred last. It was about the cows of the highly productive breed "Kostroma". Innovations made it possible to instantly increase milk yield to the highest possible.
The merits of the head of the village collective farm did not go unnoticed, and she received the Hero of Socialist Labor by decree signed by the Presidium of the Supreme Council on July 4, 1949, and the order of the name of Lenin and the honorary medal "Hammer and Sickle".
The statement of achievements obtained through the introduction of innovations was as follows: during 1948, from 24 breeding cows of the Kostroma breed, 5144 liters of whole milk containing 197 kg of fat were averaged over each animal over 12 months.
The women’s managerial experience was highly appreciated, and already in 1949, Evdokimova was elected chairman of the same collective farm. And in this position, she achieved brilliant success. Summing up the work of 1949, she again set a record. Thus, the livestock of all species of animals on the collective farm increased by 80%. And already from 32 heads of cattle from each unit annually 5067 liters of milk were consumed, which contained 199 kg of milk fat. For these merits, the foreman of labor received a second award from the Government of the USSR — the Honorary Order named after Lenin.
In 1951, Alexander Evdokimov was awarded the Stalin Prize for the development and implementation of an improved method for growing agricultural animals that produce large milk yields.
The chairman led the collective farm for 20 years, and during this time the Pyatiletka collective farm annually became the leader in all production indicators in the Kostroma district, and most importantly, the collective farm began to flourish and earn very large incomes. All this could not but have a positive effect on the beautification and residents of the village of Petrilovo.
