Jose Mourinho was born in the suburbs of Lisbon, the city of Setubal, famous for its golden beaches. On January 26, 1963, one of the authors of the modern methodology of tactical and psycho-psychological training of football players was born. The Mourinho family was half sports: Father Felish was first a football player and even played one match for the Portuguese national team. After completing a player’s career, Mourinho Sr. chose a profession as a coach. The work of his father always attracted little Jose, and his father noted his deep level understanding football even then.
When it came time to choose her education, mother Jose Mourinho insisted on a financial institution. However, the future "chosen one" chose to go to a sports university. Right in the course of his studies, Mourinho began making notes for the future combination of not only physical exercises in football, but also the psychological aspects of the game.
The beginning of a coaching career
Jose Mourinho's great career began with his work as assistant coach Bobby Robson in Sporting. Then the Portuguese was responsible only for the functions of a translator. Over time, Mourinho and Robson became so friends that the Englishman decided to take a young avenue with him to Barcelona in 1996. By that time, Jose Mourinho was already married, and the departure to Catalonia took place in the same year with the birth of the first child in the family - Matilda Mourinho.
In 2000, Mourinho decided it was time to start his own biography as head coach. The Portuguese was invited to Benfica, where he lasted only a few months. The club could not come to terms with the fundamentals of Mourinho's work: an unknown coach demanded that no one interfere in his work. As a result, Jose Mourinho left for Leiria, and for the season made her the fifth team in the Portuguese championship. After this, the “chosen one” was invited to Porto.
The year in Porto is the era of the greatness of Jose Mourinho as head coach. Having no famous players in the squad (players acquired star status already under Mourinho), the Portuguese mentor made Porto the winner of the Champions League. For the first time in almost 20 years, the Portuguese club (currently the last one) won the main trophy in Europe. Naturally, Jose's career went further uphill.
