Biography
Yuri Petrovich Voronov was born in Leningrad in January 1929. He had a strong family. My father worked in a union, my mother worked as an accountant.
When the Great Patriotic War began, the husband was forced to part with his beloved wife, two sons, as the head of the family was called to the front. Yuri at that time was 12 years old. In October 1941, he wrote to his father that for a month now “brown bastards” had been flying into the city, their house was destroyed. In his lines the boy indicated that now he eats well, his grandmother and mother even call him a glutton. At this time, they lived with “Sasha’s grandmother, ” as the boy called her.
It was evident that these lines were written by the hand of a child. But just a few months later he matured in the harsh years of the war. Then the boy wrote a poem that the unfinished tea was quickly covered with a film of ice, that the floor walked gloomily from the shell rumble from the shell.
Young fighter
Soon, Yuri Voronov enters the emergency services, then he was only 13 years old. Here he, along with other guys, puts out incendiary bombs that have fallen on the roofs, takes apart the rubble from which he saves people.
Later, the newspaper "Lenin shift" wrote about the boy. This note indicated how, at the first sounds of the alarming siren, Yura did not run to the bomb shelter, but hastened to the headquarters. He knew that here they would give him a task, because someone would certainly need to be freed from the rubble. But suddenly a shell exploded nearby, Yura fell. When he woke up, he tried to escape to save people even in this state.
The death of relatives
The future famous poet wrote to his father about how their house was bombed. At this time in the apartment were: grandmother, mother, brother and sister, born in October 1941.
The boy said that they managed to save grandmother and mother. A sister and brother were found only on the fifth day already dead. Rescuers stopped searching after 3 days, then my father came to the rescue, who was then in Kronstadt. Together with Yura, he dug up blockages with his hands. So the boy found his one and a half month old sister and three year old brother, whom they could not save.
