Biography
Yuri Antonovich was born in the city of Krasnik on July 18, 1931. He spent all his childhood in Ukraine, graduated from a technical university in 1955, where he was engaged in independent creative work, and in circles uniting interests, also began to engage in opera. In 1960 he completed his education at the Moscow Higher Musical Institution named after P. Tchaikovsky, in 1963 he graduated from graduate school and became a highly qualified personnel. Father Yuri Antonovich worked as a lawyer, and his mother as a teacher. Yuri had a very beautiful voice, this was his talent and gift, he was a very lively person with the appropriate character, but sometimes he lacked acting skills - expression to express feelings and emotions, for this he could criticize himself.
Creative activity
Yuri Antonovich began his solo career at the Bolshoi Theater, where he performed from 1963 to 2001, performing in the part of Eugene Onegin in the opera of the same name by P. Tchaikovsky.
Yuri Antonovich sang on stages around the world. In nineteen sixty-fourth he toured with his performances in La Scala (Italy). At the end of the 70s he participated in the Renato stage in the opera J. Verdi's "Masquerade Ball" at the Covent Garden Theater (England). In the period 1978-1979 he performed in the opera corpse located in the United States of America, being an actor in J. Verdi’s opera La Traviata, made mistakes in Scarpia’s action in the year nineteen ninety-three. He performed at the Austrian Opera, played the character Escamillo in the musical and dramatic performance of "Carmen" by J. Bizet in the nineteen seventy-ninth year under the leadership of Franco Zeffirelli.
He went on tour around the country and abroad with solo concerts (Bucharest, Budapest, London, Ottawa, Warsaw, Bonn, Helsinki, Paris, Berlin, Tokyo, Vienna). He had a large set of musical works to perform, including music of various directions and stylistic color, was famous as a wonderful singer of romances.
He died on April 1, 2006, at home, in a suburb of Moscow (according to other sources - February 17 in Moscow. He was buried at the Troekurovsky cemetery.
