Portraits were written from her, her performances in Paris and London were sold out, she raised Olympic figure skating champions and does not stop working with the best of the best. Former ballerina, soloist of the Bolshoi Theater, eminent choreographer and just a regally magnificent woman - Vlasova Lyudmila Iosifovna.
Childhood and youth
Biography of Vlasova Lyudmila Iosifovna from childhood is filled with vivid events and people, Shakespearean passions and heartbreaking stories. She was born on the second day of spring 1942, in the family of the talented musician Joseph Markov.
Unfortunately, the family soon broke up, and the mother of little Mila, an actress who left her career for her husband, had to look for any job. The post-war childhood of the future famous ballerina passed in the corridors of a gloomy building, where she danced between drying clothes, hung in the long corridor of a communal apartment.
Soon, Lyudmila entered the choreographic school, where the girl was to master the high art of classical dance, along with such legends as Nina Sorokina, Mikhail Lavrovsky and others. The post-war generation of children was extremely gifted, as if returning the loss of a terrible war to people.
Career and personal life
Lyudmila was invited immediately to the Bolshoi Theater, where she was taken under her wing by Vyacheslav Vlasov, the choreographer who immediately praised the talent of the young ballerina and her extraordinary external data. Soon Vyacheslav married Lyudmila, becoming a patron and protector, teacher and support in everything for a talented dancer. And she was his muse.
The ballerina performed at government concerts, often went on foreign tours, a wealth appeared in the family. Lyudmila’s mothers bought a good apartment, the ballerina herself had all the symbols of success - fur coats, jewelry, a luxurious apartment. By 1970, Lyudmila became a soloist of the Bolshoi Theater.
And suddenly for everyone in the life of the rich and famous Vlasova, everything changes dramatically. After the premiere of the film with her participation in 1971, the 28-year-old ballerina met Alexander Godunov, who had moved to Moscow from Riga as a 21-year-old dancer, a rising star of Soviet ballet.
Soon, Lyudmila, leaving all the property to her husband, goes to Alexander. Poverty awaited them, and the constant threat of a ban on foreign performances, the condemnation of the entire bohemian community and long months of hard work on the ballet stage. Lyudmila continues to shine on the stage, selling her belongings left from her ex-husband in order to somehow pay for the scarce housing.
Two years later, Plisetskaya chooses Alexander as a partner for her legendary Swan Lake, which means the highest success and good wealth. In 1975, Godunov became an honored artist, and in 1978, together with Lyudmila, played in the magical fairy tale film "June 31", which became prophetic for the spouses.
A trip to the USA in 1979 became a farewell for a couple in love. Alexander asked for political asylum in America, and Mila returned to the USSR, and this turned out to be the most difficult - they did not want to release the ballerina home. Two years later, they divorced through the embassy. Godunov, having made an excellent career on the American stage, died of chronic alcoholism in 1995, and until his last days told everyone that he loved only her, his Mila. In 1981, Lyudmila married the opera singer Statnik, who today teaches vocals at the Helsinki Opera.
