Career
Chvanov’s career began at the age of 20. The young man was commissioned from the front because of a serious injury. But this did not prevent him from being admitted to the 20th police department of Moscow, where he was appointed the detective of the operational brigade of the anti-bandit department of the MUR. The former front-line soldier got the most difficult district of Moscow - Maryina Roscha, teeming with thieves' gangs. It was Chvanov who managed to track down the legendary robber maniac Ionesyan, nicknamed "Mosgaz", who terrorized the capital in the mid-60s.
In the seventies of the past century, police colonel Chvanov headed the secret department “A” at the Main Directorate of Criminal Investigation on Ogarev, 6. And they dealt in this section with a problem that, as it were, did not exist in the "country of developed socialism" —the organizers of criminal groups were developing. Chvanov quickly mastered the difficult ethics of relations with his "wards." I immediately decided for myself that the policeman certainly should never lie and cheat, and if he promised something, be sure to follow through. And in the most recent criminal, he tried to see, first of all, a person and always act within the law.
His moore superiors - Semyon Degtyarev, Evgeny Bekin, Arthur Bragilevsky - were changing, and the young operas Chvanov grew up and gained experience.
At Petrovka 38, Chvanova was invited by George Tylner himself - deputy head of the MUR, a detective who was second to none.
Over the years, he discovered the thefts in the apartments of the famous sculptors Vera Mukhina and Evgeny Vuchetich, artists of the Bolshoi Theater Catherine Gelzer, Mark Reisen, Sulamifi Messerer and other very famous people. He returned to the museum the stolen awards of Stalin
Once Chvanov, at the request of the Queen of the Netherlands herself, using the same “four-hour method”, was able to calculate the maniac who committed more than 15 murders in Amsterdam.
In recent years, Vladimir Fedorovich dealt with a very urgent problem in one of the police structures - the search for stolen cars. The professionalism and flair of Chvanov did not go unnoticed. He was invited to the central apparatus of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, where he was instructed to lead the operational department of the criminal investigation department. Work began to take more and more time - sometimes 6 months out of 12. Chvanov had to spend on difficult business trips. But he did not complain - he loved his work.
All his life, Vladimir Fedorovich Chvanov conscientiously fought crime. It is difficult to count the numerous awards he received for his work. He served in MUR all his life, has almost sixty years of operational activity.
