Biography
Volodya Maslennikov was born in a small, very beautiful gated town in Russia called Lesnoy, in the Sverdlovsk region. It happened on August 17, 1994. As parents recall, he grew up in a very calm, flexible child. At the age of three, dad gave him a hold on an air rifle, from which he was delighted. At 4 years old, the boy’s father, Anatoly Maslennikov, brought his son to the shooting gallery for the first time, with which his passion for shooting began. Father did this consciously. He himself has been seriously engaged in life and is engaged in bullet shooting - a master of sports. More than once went to the winners, winning prizes in the championships of Russia. And to this day contributes to the development of this sport, working as a coach. Service in the Army at the senior Maslennikov was also associated with shooting. And therefore, without hesitation, he gave his son to the section on bullet shooting and was not mistaken.
Youth - the beginning of a sports career
Volodya was a fan of this sport from childhood, although at first he was fond of football, and hockey, and even basketball. He spent all his time in the sports section. He took classes very seriously. Early began to participate in various competitions in bullet shooting. Due to his character, perseverance, patience, he achieved great results. Due to his fanatical enthusiasm for shooting, after graduating from the 9th grade, he did not continue his education, but immediately entered the school of the Olympic reserve. Victories in his favorite sport were his main goal. At 16, the young man was already a member of the national team (2010).
Serious victories
Vladimir Maslennikov is one of the youngest honored masters of sports. He is trained by the honored trainers of Russia V. Kutkin and A. Yurkov. He is a repeated winner and medalist of the championships of Russia, Europe and the world. He won the first silver in twenty-one years (2015) in the individual competition. And also became a bronze medalist, both in the individual and in the team standings.
Vladimir won a serious victory at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil). Volodya took third place in shooting from an air rifle, becoming the bronze medalist of the Olympics (184.2 points), losing to the Ukrainian and Italian. He proudly replenished the piggy bank of medals of the Russian national team, which was limited by the number of athletes performing at this Olympics.
2017 and 2018 brought Vladimir Maslennikov “gold”. He won first place in air rifle shooting at the European Championship. Vladimir Anatolyevich Maslennikov was awarded a high state award medal of the Order "For Merit to the Fatherland" II degree.
