early years
Historical events leave a deep imprint on the fate of individuals. When a world war rages, a person has to obey the circumstances. Vladimir Vladimirovich Kunin was born on June 19, 1927 in an intelligent family. Parents lived in the famous city of Leningrad. My father worked as a director at a local film studio. Mother headed the subscription department in the city library. The child grew and developed in a favorable environment. Early learned to read and in a short period of time "studied" all the books in the home library.
When the war began, his father went to the front. Mother did not survive the first siege winter. The boy was evacuated along with other orphans to Kazakhstan. In 1944, when Vladimir was seventeen years old, he was drafted into the Red Army. The draftee was trained at the military aviation school of shooter-bombers. He served in the regiment of long-range bomber aircraft for several months. After the victory in the fall of 1945, part was disbanded. Creative activity
After being demobilized from the armed forces in 1951, Kunin decided to receive a specialized education at the Lesgaft Institute of Physical Education. Due to a conflict with the teacher, Vladimir was not able to complete the full course of study. After being expelled from the institute, he began performing in a circus with acrobatic numbers. Almost six years, everything went well. But once Kunin was seriously injured and wandered around hospitals for a year. We were no longer talking about returning to the arena. During this period, Vladimir, lying in a hospital bed, wrote several stories that were published on the pages of the magazine "Soviet Circus".
After completing the treatment, Kunin began working as a correspondent for the newspaper Sovetskaya Kultura. While traveling around the country, a novice writer gained interesting facts and wrote down various subjects. In 1966, the author’s first book, entitled Real Men, was published. The book includes the story "Chronicle of a diving bomber" and ten stories under the heading "About the circus and not about the circus." A year later, the cult film about "dive bombers" was released.
