Mikhail Mukasey chose his profession, following in the footsteps of his father. He is the son of the masters of cinema Svetlana Druzhinina and Anatoly Mukasey. Mikhail's successes in cinematography are not as significant as those of his eminent parents. He achieved the best creative results by shooting commercials and clips. The future Russian cameraman and producer was born in the capital of the USSR on January 3, 1966. At that time, the mother of Mikhail Svetlana Druzhinin had not yet gained fame as a director, but had already managed to star in the famous domestic films "Girls" and "It was in Penkov." The boy’s father is the famous cameraman Anatoly Mukasey. The parents named their son in honor of the grandfather, who for many years was a fighter on the invisible front and worked from illegal positions outside the country. Interesting fact: Mikhail Isaakovich was a friend of the famous Charlie Chaplin.
At the age of 12, Mikhail faced a family tragedy - his older brother Anatoly committed suicide. After this incident, parents very strictly took up the education of their youngest son.
After graduating from school, Mikhail became a student at VGIK, choosing the profession of a cameraman for himself. Of course, this choice was made under the influence of family tradition.
Career of Mikhail Mukasey
In his youth, Mikhail was for some time the guitarist in the Obermaneken group, which successfully performed in the vastness of the USSR and outside the country. Young people performed rock of a new wave. But in subsequent years, Mukasei Jr. focused his efforts on camera work. He considers his work to be the most important in cinema, because it is through the eyes of the cameraman that the viewer sees the director’s intention.
Mikhail Anatolyevich participated in the filming of well-known Russian films, including the thriller “Tin”, films “Down House”, “Idiot”, “Arbiter”, “Montana”, “Hunting for Manchurian deer”, “Snow does not always melt”, “On treason ", " First Autumn of the War ", " Exchange."
In 2009, Mukasey received a membership card of the Union of Cinematographers of Russia, a little later he joined the jury of the White Square prize for cameramen.
It just so happened that the operator achieved his highest creative success by filming commercials and videos.
