Biography
American Orasin Price, mother of the Williams sisters, is a tennis coach nicknamed Brandy. For Richard Williams, the father of Serena and Venus, Orasin married after the death of her previous husband, Youssef Rashid, who left his wife with three daughters.
Richard, a renowned tennis coach, was divorced by that time and had three daughters and two sons from his first marriage. Orasin gave him two more daughters, who in the future changed the world of tennis. Spouses are followers of Jehovah's Witnesses raising their children in these religious traditions.
Venus was born in the summer of 1980, and her famous sister was born a year later. Weather girls attended school together and from a very tender age began training on the court under the watchful supervision of two wonderful professional trainers - mom and dad.
For the sake of training daughters, showing amazing results, the family moved to Florida at the suggestion of Rick Mackey, a national coach who worked with tennis legends - Capriati, Sharapova and others. Mackey decided to personally engage in talented sisters. Spouses Williams broke up in 2002, but by then all their children had found their calling in life, and Venus had already become an Olympic champion and won a victory at Wimbledon.
Sports career
Venus Williams made her professional tennis debut with a fourteen-year-old teenager at the 1994 Auckland WTA. In 1997, she first appeared on the courts of the Grand Slam, becoming a real discovery. Fighting with adult, experienced tennis players, Venus made her way into the French Championship in the second round. The debut Wimbledon was a failure for the girl, but already at the next French Championship in America, she, a 17-year-old young athlete, broke into the finals, becoming a real star in the sports world. Senior Venus completed the 97th year with an amazing result, taking the twenty-second line in the world ranking. And the 98th season ended for the young tennis player in fifth position in the world classification.
The season of 1999, the young star first played with Serena, starting to compete in Sydney and ending at the French Championship. The sisters won the pair Grand Slam Cup. In the same year, at Wimbledon, Venus slightly lost to tennis player Hingis in a single battle, but in the pair competitions in the USA, the Williams sisters again take the Grand Slam prize, the second time in one season, and Venus in the world ranking takes the third line.
In 2000, the young athlete recovered for a long time after a rather serious injury, she had serious problems with tendons on both wrists, the girl was intensively treated, trained and "got into operation" only by the end of spring. Her efforts were not in vain - this year, for the first time, she won the Grand Slam individual prize and traditionally shared the victory in doubles with her sister.
Having gained excellent shape, the tennis player easily beats the two best tennis players at the US Open, who occupy the 1st and 2nd places in the world ranking, and at the same time takes Olympic gold in Sydney. It was the peak of Williams Sr.'s career, which then became the best of the best, which went down forever in the history of sports as a legend.
Further, the career of Venus developed with varying success, but it did not steadily fall below the fifth position in the world ranking until 2005, which ended for Venus on the 10th line of the female classification. Unlucky for the athlete and 2006, which she completed in 48th position, having missed several important games of the season.
In 2011, Williams became a vegetarian - the doctors found her a complex autoimmune disease, but she did not want to leave her favorite sport, and therefore simply changed her diet and began to train harder.

Scandals
In the summer of 2017, a real scandal broke out in the press with the participation of Venus Williams. She was found guilty of a car accident that led to the death of 78-year-old Jerome Barson and his wife, 68-year-old Linda. Of course, no one began to hide the sports star behind bars, but relatives of the dead did not agree with this and filed a lawsuit against Williams, demanding a tougher punishment.
In 2016, both Venus and Serena Williams were at the center of a doping scandal that erupted due to information posted on the network by unknown hackers. From the files it was clear that both tennis players were taking banned steroid hormones. But Williams could justify, proving that medication was necessary for medical reasons.
