In the early 2000s, Russians were struck by the news of the "Skopinsky maniac" Viktor Mokhov. For almost 5 years he committed terrible crimes, kept him in captivity and raped young girls. Despite the fact that he repeatedly came into the view of the investigating authorities, he managed to avoid punishment and continue his deeds. Why did this happen? How the "Skopinsky maniac" was caught and what punishment he suffered for his crimes.
Who is Victor Mokhov
None of those people who were closely acquainted with Mokhov, saw how he was growing, could not even think that he would become one of the worst Russian maniacs. An ordinary, unremarkable, rather quiet teenager, then a young man, a man, without any mental deviations and signs of aggression towards women. He graduated from high school, then entered a technical school in the hometown of Skopino, Ryazan Region, received a specialized education - he mastered the profession of a mining master. In order to work on the mastered profile, Victor had to leave home, which he did not want to do. Mokhov got a job as a simple mechanic at the nearest plant, and worked there almost his whole life.
No one ever noticed his evil inclinations. The work collective spoke well of him, the leadership more than once noted his labor successes and zeal with honorary diplomas, he was honored to become a member of the CPSU. With the same zeal and zeal, as it turned out later, he was preparing to commit his crimes. The bunker, which he built for the maintenance of his captives, struck with constructive thoughtfulness, was carefully disguised, it was impossible to notice the entrance to it, even at a stone's throw.
Victor Mokhov’s personal life did not work out. He made an attempt to start a family, married in the late 70s, but family happiness lasted only 3 months. Who was his wife, what was her name, why did she leave her husband so quickly - there are no answers to these questions now. Perhaps the woman already noticed that Victor had some kind of psychic deviations on the basis of sex, and when these inclinations opened, she tried to erase any references to him from her life.
Crimes of Victor Mokhov - "Skopinsky maniac"
When Victor Mokhov began to build a bunker is unknown. Nobody knew what he was doing in his free time, what he was preparing for — neither the mother with whom he lived, nor his colleagues. The future maniac had no close friends. Judging by how the basement behind his garage was disguised and equipped, he was preparing for crimes and Mokhov thought about them long before the commission.
He made an attempt to get a captive for the first time back in 1999, when he invited a young couple to drink with him. His idea came true, but only two weeks later the girl managed to escape from the bunker. The strange thing is that the victim did not contact the police. If she did this, the maniac would have been arrested at that moment; he would not have caused so much grief to the other girls and their families.

After only six months, Mokhov managed to find a “like-minded person” who later helped him commit crimes. She became a certain Elena Badukina, who looked very much like a young man, and presented herself to the victims as the nephew of Mokhov Lesha. At the end of September 2000, the couple managed to lure two girls of 14 and 17 years old into Victor’s car. The girls, not suspecting that they had fallen into the hands of criminals, agreed to drink with new acquaintances, and woke up already in the bunker of the "Skopinsky maniac." There they spent a long 4 years, one of them had two sons from a maniac, she lost her third child.
Three years later, thinking that the girls belonged entirely to him, that their will was suppressed, Mokhov began to take them out for walks, which was his main mistake. When the maniac tried to get another captive of one of the girls, she managed to pass her a note, which the failed victim passed to the police. So one of the most high-profile crimes of the 2000s was discovered - the case of the "skoppy maniac."
