Vasily Makarov - Soviet film and theater artist. He bears the title of Honored Artist of the RSFSR, is a laureate of the Stalin Prize. The artist was awarded the medal "For Valiant Labor during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945."
Vasily Ivanovich was born in the village of Skala in the province of Skala on December 30 in 1913 (January 12, 1014). In the family of peasant fishermen, the child became the firstborn. All the childhood and youth of the future celebrity took place on the high Ob shore in amazingly beautiful places. Vasily treated his parents, sisters and brother with great respect, was proud of his family.
Path to recognition
Outwardly, he grew up very much like a mother. Agafya Ivanovna was a stately and beautiful woman. And she was distinguished by hard work, wisdom and restraint. Father, Ivan Nikolaevich, was distinguished by considerable artistry.
Grandfather was a real storehouse of humor. From him and his father surrendered this talent. The grandson Vasily inherited it. Makarov was not deprived of talents. He played guitar and accordion quite well, although he did not study this on purpose, he copied other people wonderfully, and was distinguished by wit.
From childhood, the boy showed creative abilities. Fate brought him to the theater studio at the Youth Theater of Novosibirsk. He came to the theater with friends. One of them, Alexei Sorokin, will become a leading dancer at the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Musical Theater. He kept friendship with Makarov for life.
Elizabeth Golovinskaya and Nikolai Mikhailov became the teachers of the beginning artist in the Youth Theater. Vasily Ivanovich always thanked them for their work. The artist played a lot. Favorite heroes were Pavel Korchagin, Truffaldino from “Servants of Two Masters”, twins from “Comedy of Errors”. The roles of the actor got diverse.
In 1945, one of the youngest actors in the province, Makarov was awarded the high title of Honored Artist of the RSFSR. On December 9, he was awarded the medal "For Valiant Labor during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945."
In 1946, an invitation came to the Moscow Art Theater. A great school for the performer was a meeting and the opportunity to work with artists of the classical school. Luminaries such as Olga Knipper-Chekhova, Boris Dobronravov, Livanov, Gribov, Toporkov, Prudkin played and communicated with him.
Successful career
After the premiere of the production of Days and Nights, Vasily Ivanovich became friends for the rest of his life with Konstantin Sinitsyn. On the Moscow Art Theater, Makarov played three main roles. The recognition of his talent was the Order of the Badge of Honor and the Stalin Prize. However, he had to leave his favorite theater.
The proposal was made to the artist by three leading groups of the capital. Maly, Drama, and Theater of the Soviet Army were interested in it. On the last option and stopped the choice of Makarov.
He reasoned that further improvement of talent would go much better under the guidance of prominent director Alexei Popov. Makarov became a leading performer. Performances with his participation went every day.
The characters in all Vasily Ivanovich fell the main ones. Basically, he got social identities. He played revolutionaries, military. For his work in the 1949 performance "Green Street", the actor was awarded the Stalin Prize. The repertoire largely determined the name of the theater.
Vasily Ivanovich admitted that the characters played in the capital were too homogeneous and had little interest in him as an actor. The characters offered in Novosibirsk became much more complicated for him.
Movie Activities
The actor’s favorite playwright was Chekhov. He always took on the volume of the classic and enjoyed rereading his works. Kino Makarov loved, but as a spectator. There, the artist could both laugh and cry. The acting attitude towards a new kind of art was vague.
Vasily Ivanovich remained a theater performer. For him there was nothing nicer than a brilliantly played performance. Interesting and great roles for the performer were offered in cinema a lot. However, the leadership on the shooting of the artist did not let go, since the troupe was left without a leading actor.
The most prominent film work in 1956 was the film "Immortal Garrison." The picture told about the defenders of the Brest Fortress. The theater gave the go-ahead to participate in the filming, as the scriptwriter Simonov did everything in his power for Makarov to play Commissioner Baturin, the main character.
The playwright did not represent another artist in this role. Vasily Ivanovich had a chance to work with Valentina Serova and Nikolai Kryuchkov. The image created by him on the screen again proved that the artist is able to convey both the internal stamina and the heroism of the defender of the Baturin fortress.
