Biography
Valdis was born in June 1967. in Riga. Pelsh’s father is a Latvian, worked as a journalist, radio presenter, economist, his mother is Russian, and was an engineer. Valdis lived most of his life in Moscow, but considers himself a Latvian. Pelsh has a sister, she is 13 years younger. She currently lives in the United States.
Little Valdis was distinguished by his ability to learn languages, he studied at a school with in-depth study of French, which he graduated with honors. After her graduation, he entered the Faculty of Philosophy of Moscow State University, began to participate in the activities of the youth theater of the university. There he met A. Kortnev, with whom he created the collective "Accident". As part of the group, Pelsh was responsible for the musical part.
At the University Theater, Kortnev and Pelsh played all the years of study. Pelsh participated in productions until 1995. In 1987 Valdis took part in the games of KVN, got into the team of Moscow State University. In 1997 Pelsh leaves the group "Accident", however, performs with the team at important concerts. The last time he appeared with the group on stage in 2010 at the presentation of the album "The Tunnel at the End of the World".
Career
After graduating from Moscow State University, V. Pelsh worked as a junior research fellow at the Research Institute of Problems of the History of Natural Science and Technology, created at the Academy of Sciences. A year later, he decided to go on television, his first project - "Oba-on!". Then he developed several television projects that he himself led (“Pilot”, “Debiliad”, etc.). Most of the plans were a failure. In 1995 V. Listyev invited Valdis to become the host of the project “Guess the melody”, which brought him fame.
In 1990-2000. Pelsh runs the programs "Guess", "These funny animals", "Draw", "Millions of Eldorado", "Alone at home", etc., as well as popular television shows. He was invited to the jury of the TV show "Surprise Me", KVN games. In 2013, the Pelsh project, Guess the Tune-3, was released.
Valdis starred in music and entertainment films ("Old Songs about the Main-3", "Brother 2", "Love-Carrot", "Turkish Gambit"). From 1996 to 1999 Pelsh, together with Kortnev, led the Golden Gramophone award ceremony.
