In the life of believers, at some point, a desire may arise to create a family and testify of their feelings to God himself. In this case, Christians tremblingly embark on the sacrament of marriage. However, it happens that church marriages break up and the question arises before a person about the possibility of a second church marriage.

The creation of an Orthodox family means the union of two loving hearts into a single whole. It is no coincidence that the Bible tells us that what God combines is not parted by man. The sacrament of marriage is the connection that, with mutual agreement, unites people in love and divine grace. But sometimes, due to problems in everyday life or other difficult life situations, marriage can be dissolved. In this case, the question of the possibility of a second wedding in the future remains at the discretion of the ruling bishop of the diocese.
The church canon speaks about the possible reasons for the dissolution of the marriage. This is the condescension of the Church to human weaknesses and gives a person hope for a second marriage. There are several such reasons. First of all, this is the death of one of the spouses. Although the apostle Paul says that it is better to remain a widow or widower, but if absolutely necessary, you can marry again.
There are several other cases in which a second wedding is permissible. So, if one of the spouses is diagnosed with a disease of alcoholism, drug addiction or a mental disorder, then the possibility of a second church marriage is also real. The main thing is that the bishop gives permission for this. A special place is occupied by syphilis and HIV infection. In order to avoid infection of the partner, the first marriage can be dissolved, and, accordingly, a permit for a second wedding is permissible.
If the family broke up due to adultery and at the same time the injured party did not forgive the culprit, the marriage is dissolved and the possibility of a second church union is also allowed. But in any case, the ruling bishop takes the final decision on the issue of second religion. Without the blessing of the bishop and the corresponding document a second time, a great sacrament cannot be performed.
