Since childhood, Andrei Turkin has become accustomed to independence. He was able to make difficult decisions and be responsible for them. The excellent physical and special training received at the school and the army allowed Andrei to become a professional in a serious division of the FSB. In 2004, the young officer died, at the cost of his life saving the inhabitants of peaceful Beslan captured by terrorists.

Andrei Turkin: facts from a biography
The future FSB officer, Hero of the Russian Federation, who died in Beslan while on duty, was born in Orsk on December 21, 1975. A boy grew up without a father. Already in his childhood he knew how to craft, plan, saw. At school age he became interested in hand-to-hand combat, the basics of which he comprehended in the sports section. Andrei was distinguished by excellent vocal data, he performed in the choir.
Having finished the 8th grade, the young man decided that it was time to help his mother. He enrolled in vocational schools to get a useful specialty as a fitter driver. This education and skills were subsequently useful to the young man during his service in the army and special forces.
At the end of 1993, Turkin was called up for service in the border troops, which he held in the Trans-Baikal border district. He took part in difficult military operations on the border between Tajikistan and neighboring Afghanistan. In the summer of 1995, he was discharged from the border troops to the reserve. The rank by reserve is a sergeant.
Turkin was married. In 2001, Andrei and his wife Natasha had a son, Vladislav. The second son saw the light 5 months after the tragic death of Turkin. In honor of his father, he was named Andrew.
