Biography
Svetlana Tormakhova was born in 1947 on Sakhalin. Her father was a military pilot, so the family often moved to his destination. Svetlana spent her childhood in the Volyn region, in the west of Ukraine. She graduated from high school in the city of Lutsk. She was a lively girl, loved to read poetry in front of the public. Therefore, the parents were not surprised when the daughter once said that she wanted to become an artist.
From Lutsk, Svetlana went to Moscow and the first time she entered the Shchepkin Theater School. She dreamed of studying here, but somehow she did not take root at the school. And two years later she transferred to Shchukinsky.
In 1973, after the end of "Pike", Svetlana joined the Vakhtangov Theater, and her theatrical life began. It was a time of inspiration, a desire to work and to give all of himself to the theater. As Svetlana Dmitrievna later recalled, in the theater she worked hard. Sometimes it happened that a day had to play two performances, and all of them were very serious!
Movie career
Svetlana began acting in films when she was already under thirty. Her first role in the series "Walking through the agony" (1974) was very successful, so almost immediately Tormakhov was invited to the shooting of the serial film "Yurkins Dawn", where the main role was played by Valery Ryzhakov.
The only problem was that the director never let her out of the theater to shoot, and had to work on weekends. But the film turned out to be excellent: it was enthusiastically received by the audience, and Svetlana herself became a celebrity.
After this success came roles in other films, while Tormakhova played in the theater. And then a change happened in her life, which temporarily forced the actress to give up her craft.
