The People's Artist of the RSFSR Georgy Georgievich Taratorkin in our country is better known for his character Raskolnikov in the Soviet film "Crime and Punishment" (1969), for which he became the laureate of the State Prize of the RSFSR. Georgy Taratorkin is one of the few domestic theater and cinema actors who has an individual “underline”, which is why his roles in various roles always differ in special color and uniqueness. In the city on the Neva on January 11, 1945, the future idol of millions of fans was born. As a child, the boy very often attended theaters with his mother and sister, among which the Theater of Youth was the most beloved. Here they spent the happiest hours of their life, and therefore the decision to devote their careers to creativity related to the stage came by itself.
After graduating from a comprehensive school, Georgy got a job as a lighter in the Youth Theater, where he was very soon noticed by Zinovy Korogodsky, artistic director of the theater. After talking with him, Taratorkin begins to attend a studio at the Youth Theater. And the first role on the stage was the schoolboy Romadin in the production of "Dedicated to you."
After graduation in 1966 and until 1974, Taratorkin worked in the Leningrad Youth Theater. Here the theater-goers could enjoy his talented transformation into classic characters: Hamlet, Pyotr Schmidt, Boris Godunov and Podkhalyuzin. And then Georgy Georgievich moves to the Moscow Theater of the Moscow Soviet, where he went on stage until his death. Among the many theatrical roles, the role of the poet Dion in the play "Roman Comedy", which became one of the last in his career, deserves special attention.
An important event in the creative life was his decision to engage in teaching activities at VGIK since 1996.
In 1967, Georgy Georgievich made his film debut. The character of the bomber in the film "Sofia Perovskaya" became that film work, after which the aspiring artist decided to continue his career as a film actor, although during the whole of his creative life he emphasized in favor of the theater. But real success came in 1969, when the premiere of the film Crime and Punishment took place, in which he played the main role of Raskolnikov.
