Biography
Tyler Joseph was born December 1, 1988 in Columbus, in a family where his mother, Kelly Joseph, was a teacher of mathematics, and his father, Chris Joseph, was the principal and part-time coach of the school basketball team. The Joseph family was truly large and friendly. Tyler with his brothers Zach and Jay often made fun of their sister - Madison. And the parents, deciding to calm down his endless energy, were sent to the basketball section. Then no one could have thought that the passion for basketball would lead to the fact that in 2008, the Worthington team, in which he was a playmaker, took second place in Division IV. After this event, he receives an invitation from the University of Otterbane in the training and payment of a sports scholarship. But unexpectedly for many, he declines the invitation. And there was a reason for that. After attending a performance by composers at the High Street Club, he was imbued with all his heart for music. Already in high school, he tries to compose a melody on a synthesizer, write texts and practice singing. And in 2009, he gathers a group of his school friends Nick Thomas and Chris Salih.
Career
The first steps in Tyler Joseph's music career were in 2007 - 2008. When he released the solo mini-album "No Phun Intended", on which he worked in the basement of his house. Later, he will edit his songs from the solo album and include the groups in the album, but with different names.
In 2009, the band released their first self-titled album, "Twenty One Pilots" and became a new name in the music world. Hits that took first place in the charts were heard from everywhere. They began to be invited to radio and television, after which the first tour was organized, which took place in Ohio.
The group achieved success very quickly. But in 2011, unexpectedly for many fans, Chris and Nick left her, explaining their departure with a busy schedule. Many were puzzled about what would happen to the group, but the drummer of House of Heroes, Josh Dan, replaced the school mates. In the same year, a new line-up took part in the Columbus' Newport Music Hall, so most record companies wanted to collaborate with them. But in the end, preference was given to Atlantic Records, a subsidiary of Fueled by Ramen.
