Biography
The future singer was born in Leningrad on November 14, 1968. Until 3 years, she lived in an orphanage, after which the girl was adopted by the candidate of biological sciences Surganova Lia Davydovna. The name of the real mother is still unknown.
Little Sveta was found to have developmental delays, a whole heap of diseases and complexes, but thanks to her mother, who was doing everything for her child, she was able to start living a full life. From childhood, the girl showed interest in music. This was noticed by one of her mother’s friends and advised her daughter to go to music school. There, Svetlana was engaged in vocals and playing the violin.
After graduating from school, she entered a medical school, wanting to follow in the footsteps of her beloved mother. There she organized a musical group called "League", which participated in various festivals and competitions, winning several times in them. As a student, she met a talented musician - Peter Malakhovsky. After this, the dissolution of the Liga group followed with the aim of creating a new project, "Something Else." The team of Peter and Svetlana was quite popular among the informal youth of St. Petersburg.
Career
The real popularity came with the group "Night Snipers", which Svetlana founded together with her old friend Diana Arbenina. Surganova was a vocalist and played the violin. During the work of the “snipers”, the girls jointly publish several poetry collections. Despite the success, at the end of 2002 the violinist left the band. One of the popular versions of why this happened is the discord in the relationship between Diana and Sveta.
At first, the singer appeared only at acoustic concerts paired with Valery Thay. In April 2003, a new project, Surganova and Orchestra, was born. In June of that year, the team released their debut album, which literally blew up the music charts. At the moment, they are actively touring and are welcome guests at the largest rock festivals in Russia. In 2018, the group celebrated its 15th anniversary.
