Career
Carla Suarez carefully prepared for the transition to the “adult” professional tennis league, speaking at many junior competitions in Spain. Carla's biggest success was a victory at the 2006 European Championship U18, where she beat the famous favorites, Korne and Kirstu.
The Spaniard started attending adult tournaments back in 2002, got into the 2004 singles rating, and soon, having gained good experience, in 2006 defeated Lourdes Dominguez Lino, then the 45th racket of the world. In 2009, seeing the successes of an ambitious athlete, Karl was attracted to perform for the Federation Cup team. In the same year, Suarez defeats the famous Venus Williams and makes his way to the quarter-finals of the Grand Slam.
2012 was a crisis for Carla. She did not lose to “average” opponents, but did not show any outstanding results. But 2013 has become much more successful for a tennis player. By the end of the first summer month, she entered the top 20, simultaneously losing the ninth racket of the world, and then Carla’s results began to improve, and in 2016 she achieved the most significant WTA Premier 5 title in her career.
By 2019, Carla was not ready due to the injury she received last season. Going to the court of the US Open, Suarez lost in the first round and refused to continue the fight, taking a break for recovery.
